Inter Milan are trying to play hardball with Chelsea as the English Premier League side are trying to re-sign one of their former strikers this summer. The Blues are trying so hard to get a deal for the Belgium international striker over the line after seemingly being priced out of a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland. Chelsea had been chasing Haaland all summer even though they were told when the summer transfer window just opened that they would not be getting a chance to sign the German Bundesliga giants’ prized asset anytime soon but they kept pushing in a bid to convince Dortmund to sell and they failed in the end.
Chelsea turned their sights to their former star Lukaku some days ago and even though they launched the first bid of around €100 million-plus left-back Marcos Alonso, the Italian Serie A giants rebuffed the offer. However, the London club are set to return with a bigger bid of around €130 million – an amount that could be too good to be turned down by Inter.
Lukaku has reportedly told Inter to accept an ideal bid from Chelsea as he wishes to return to Stamford Bridge this summer where he feels he still has some unfinished business.
